Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. is the Director & Senior Scholar of the Center for the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University. Governor Ritter completed his term of office as Governor of the State of Colorado in January 2011. He was a partner at the law firm of Hogan and Hartson, now Hogan Lovells. Prior to that, he was the Denver District Attorney from June 1993 through January 2005. He was also an Assistant United States Attorney, and Chief Deputy District Attorney. In 1987 Bill and his family left for Zambia, Africa, where he ran the Mongu food distribution center while a lay missionary. He graduated from Colorado State in 1978, and from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1981, were he was an active member of the Christian Legal Society.
